Fun at the Beach

Also for the Memorial Day weekend we spent lots of time relaxing and playing on the beach in San Diego. Kit and his friend Dylan came with us and we had tons of fun. The only catch was that we all got super sun burnt, except for Aurora, we made sure her sunscreen was applied and reapplied often so she came out unscathed. We left for the trip at around 2am and arrived in San Diego at about 7am so some of us were rather tired at first.

It was a little chilly and windy in the morning but by the afternoon it was beautiful weather.

Here is Erik still a kid at heart building a sand castle.

The evenings were a little chilly also, at least for us Arizona girls.

While Kit and Dylan went cruising on their long boards, Erik, Aurora, and I
visited the aquarium at UC San Diego. Rora loved all the fish, especially the ones that swam fast.

Aurora didn't care much for daddy's head popping out of the sand.

But she loved feeling the sand between her fingers.

Here are some cool pics that Kit took of the beautiful seascape.

We rented a Boogie board and a Skim board to play around with. Aurora loved watching Erik out in the ocean, you can hear her yelling "Daddy" in this video.

Visiting Family in California

Over the Memorial Day weekend we took a mini vacation to San Diego for fun on the beach, wonderful 72 degree weather, but most of all to visit Gram, Patty, and Danny who live nearby. It was so great to see all of them again. They are all doing well and as Gram admitted herself, she sure looks great, especially for recently celebrating her 95th birthday!

Aurora got a little tired while we were visiting; good thing Great Gram's shoulder was nearby to snuggle up to.

Patty and Danny have a cute new kitten named Annie that Rora fell in love with. They became quick friends!

It's Officially Summer in AZ

There is a park with a splash pad near our house. Rora had a blast; she loves the water and it was a great cool down from the 103 degree heat we have been having the last couple of weeks.
