It's begining to look a lot like Christmas. . . .

Aurora is growing up so much. She is rolling over, sitting up for a few seconds at a time by herself, and eating all the rice cereal she can get her hands on. And her first tooth showed up for Kit's birthday yesterday! With Christmas coming Rora is meeting lots of family for the first time and seems to be loving all the new attention. We can't wait for her to meet all her family in Oregon on Friday, and her first airplane ride too! We are also excited to talk to my brother from his mission in South Africa on Christmas Day, hopefully Rora will be in a talkative mood for him.
Merry Christmas to everyone!!

Let it snow. Let it snow. Let it snow.

We spent Thanksgiving Day up at Jim's Cabin. It was so much fun to visit with family and enjoy the beautiful snowy weather!
It was Rora's first snow experience and she loved it!

She was the cutest little snow bunny ever!

Rora loves to read, one of her favorites lately is her lamb book.

It is also her favorite book to eat!

Halloween

This was Aurora's first costume, a chili pepper. Heather and Drennan got it for her and it was so cute, unfortunately it was a little small and her legs were cramped, it wasn't 30 sec before she wanted out of it.
So, we decided to be the pumpkin family at the Trunk-or-Treat.
Too bad it was still about 85 degrees outside and Aurora got hot in her warm pumpkin costume and again wanted out of it, she does not like to be uncomfortable.

Here is our trunk.

Just a really cute pic of Aurora.

Erik cut a hole in the bottom of his pumpkin so he could put it on his head. He was THE GREAT PUMPKIN HEAD!

Erik's is the big one, mine is the white one, and even Aurora carved a baby pumpkin. Kit came over a carved them with us, but he took his pumpkin home before we took the picture.

Aurora having fun at the Fair

Arizona State Fair

We had lots of fun at the State Fair on Friday, it was the first time Aurora got to ride sitting forward in her stroller and not in the car seat. She loved to be able to see everything in front of her.

It was her first encounter with sheep and many other animals and she wasn't quite sure what to think about them.

Of course she didn't get to go on any rides but she loved watching the many people, the strange new things, and especially all the lights.

By the end she was quite tuckered out from all the excitement.

Growing up so fast.

We had our first semi-chilly day here in Arizona this last weekend and Aurora looked so cute in her little hoody.
Believe it or not I think Rora is teething already, she is always drooling and loves gnawing on anything she can get her hands on. She especially likes a cold teething ring. She is just the happiest baby ever!

Zzzzzzzzz. . .

Unfortunately, Rora and Daddy got tired towards the end of the afternoon session as sometimes happens on these weekends. But, they sure look cute when they are sleeping.

Conference Saturday Sessions

Today was Aurora's first General Conference and she seemed to enjoy herself. She loved the music, that is also her favorite part about church. We were surprised, at times her eyes were glued to the TV.

Although, while we were sustaining the leaders of the church she was battling a hiccup attack.

Morning story time

The last couple of mornings Aurora has been waking up at about five and Amelia reads her story books. She has started to talk to the pages, and she gets pretty into them. She also laughs at the pictures. Her favorite book so far has been Dr. Seuss A B C book.
We are so excited to see she loves books just like her mommy. And also that she is talking and giggling already. Oh, and its' gibberish , just so you don't go telling people we have a two month old talking baby.

Two Month Check-up

Aurora went to her two month check-up, when we got there she was in such a fun mood, smiling and giggling at Dr. Auxier. She has grown so much.

just for a comparison, I'll mention her newborn stats as well.

when she was born she was 9 lbs. 1.5 oz., now.....13 lbs 5 oz.

she was 22 inches, now 25 1/4 inches long

her head was 14 1/2 inches around, now 15 3/4 inches

She still has a full head of hair, even though some said it would fall out and change color. She still has mostly Brown hair with a little bit of red in it.

Aurora's Blessing

Erik gave Aurora her baby blessing at church today. It was a beautiful blessing and little Rora didn't cry one bit. Here are some pics of the event.

She loves to be held by Aunt Laura.

Here she is with Great Grandma Pepper

So many people love Aurora!

Heads up!

Aurora's neck is so strong already.
She is so good at holding it up and
she likes to look all around the room.

Another cute thing Aurora does

Rora loves to swing

Aurora used to hate her swing until she figured out

how to pump herself. It is so cute, she gets her leg

around the first bar to get to the stationary bar and

pushes with her foot until she gets going pretty fast,

then she stops herself and starts over again.

Hair trouble.

I decided to try to get rid of Aurora's dry scalp by rubbing Vaseline on it and then washing it out with shampoo. (I got the idea from the book I am reading.) The only thing is that she has so much hair that it took like 40 washes to get all that gunk out of her hair! Aurora was happy because she loves getting her hair washed. We still hadn't gotten all of the gunk out when we were going to Ikea so we stuck a hat over her crazy hair so that she wouldn't be embarrassed. The good news is that it really did help her flaky scalp.
